Confidentiality

Article 3 - confidentiality according to BGB

1. Naturopaths are obliged to keep client confidentiality about everything that is entrusted to them or made available to them in the exercise of their profession. In contrast to medical confidentiality, non-medical practitioners have no right to refuse to give evidence in court.

2. Non-medical practitioners have their helpers, interns and assistants to teach about the duty to maintain client confidentiality and to record this in writing.

3. Non-medical practitioners must observe the obligation to maintain client confidentiality vis-à-vis their family members.

4. Non-medical practitioners may only disclose confidential patient data if the patient has released them from confidentiality. This also applies to the relatives of a patient, unless the type of illness or treatment requires notification for safety purposes.

5. Information about the health status of an employee to his employer may only be provided with the consent of the employee.

6. Necessary information to health insurance must be given to the best of my knowledge and belief. Note: A duty of confidentiality does not exist in this case, since at the beginning of the insurance policy, insured persons have in principle exempted their practitioners from confidentiality.
